The Next Carrie Bradshaw?

To be frank, I have to make this blog for my journalism class. I wouldn't have made one if I didn't have to but, rumor has it, writing everything down can be therapeutic. Let's be honest, everyone needs a little therapy. Maybe I'll be the next Carrie Bradshaw.

I'd like to start off by saying I intend on being sad for about a week or so due to the current big blue nation situation. If you don't go to Kentucky, or you've been buried under a rock for a while now, you might not know that the Kentucky Wildcats mens basketball team lost in their attempt to get into the Final Four last night. To our neighbor West Virginia. Sucks. Regardless, I still bleed blue and our women's basketball team is still in their tournament, so that's good.

Since this is the first post, I guess I'll explain the title and stuff. I went to a wedding yesterday, so the title kind of came to me there. Being Jewish is one of the things that makes me really stand out at the University of Kentucky (which will be referred to as UK from here on out), so I rep it to the fullest. I'm not even really that Jewish. Sure, I celebrate the holidays with family and stuff, but I consider myself agnostic. Fortunately, this isn't a blog about my religious views, so I won't go into all that. The point is that that's just one thing that makes me different and somewhat uncomfortable in Lexington (especially when people ask me questions about Judaism that I have NO IDEA what the answer could be). I'm also quite liberal and Kentucky is an incredibly red state. So last year's election was quite an experience. So basically, I just made that the title because it sounds good and I like rhyming.

I'm not too sure what this blog will even be about, probably just me ranting about shit you don't care about at all. That's why you have the option of x-ing out! Mazel tov (google it, unless you've figured out the meaning thanks to the Black Eyed Peas).

  1. I love the title delanes. Definitely something you would think of and I would be jealous for you coming up with it first. And as you know, I can concur with how you feel when someone asks you questions regarding Judaism and I need to wikipedia it to find an answer

  2. I feel like everyone involved in the big blue nation will be pretty blue in the upcoming weeks but I mean Bob Huggins just has Calipari's number it seems. I read somewhere that Calipari is 1-8 against Huggins coached teams. I'm just saying. But maybe John Wall will stay and we can try again next year. haha yea right
